Durban City FC head coach Khalil Ben Youssef has cleared the air regarding the limited game-time handed to star signing Gastón Sirino. Sirino was a surprise omission from the starting line-up, only featuring as a second-half substitute in the opening league match against Sekhukhune United over the weekend.
Why Sirino was a sub
Ben Youssef revealed that the Uruguayan was managing a minor injury setback that restricted his pre-season training, necessitating a cautious approach to his integration. "No, Sirino was injured," Khalil explained after the match. "Sirino started to train only three training sessions this week. He was two weeks out, so he’s not able to play 90 minutes. So, for that, we keep him for the second half."

The KZN outfit are looking to build on their own recent success, having famously won the Nedbank Cup last season. Ben Youssef's charges may need the experience of Sirino if they are to unlock a stubborn Bucs defence and advance to the next round.
