Al Hilal SC, the Sudan Premier League side, fell to a 3-1 defeat against Cape Town City FC in a friendly match at Atlone Stadium. Cape Town City's Mogamat May, Darwin Gonzalez, and Thabo Nodada scored, while Al Hilal's new signing Abdul Ajagun netted. The Sudanese side, which has been based in South Africa since December 28, 2021, will face Mamelodi Sundowns in the 2021/2022 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League Group A match on February 11. The group also includes Al Merreikh and Al Ahly.
Al Hilal SC was drawn against Burundi's Aigle Noir CS in the 2026/2027 CAF Champions League first preliminary round. The tie will see Al Hilal host the first leg in Kigali between September 11-13, following a September 4-6 match in Burundi. A win would see them face the winner of Chad's Aigloms FC and Ethiopia's Sidaama Buna FC.
Meanwhile, Gaadiidka FC secured the 2025/2026 Somali Premier League title with a goalless draw against Dekedaha FC, finishing with 51 points. Jubba FC and Gantaalaha FC were relegated after finishing 12th and 11th respectively.
