Durban City FC has signed three University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) student athletes, Wandile Gigaba, Amukelwa Tau, and Lwandiso Yalo, for the 2026/27 season.

The players were officially unveiled at a ceremony held at the UKZN Football Stadium on the Howard College campus. The recruitment marks a significant milestone in the growing partnership between Durban City FC and UKZN.

Yalo, a second-year Bachelor of Education student, hopes to honour his family through his progress in the game.
