Durban City FC's unbeaten start to the season continues after a 1-1 draw with Golden Arrows in the Betway Premiership. The match, played at the Chatsworth Stadium on Tuesday night, saw City take the lead through Jerome Karelse's own goal in the 10th minute. Haashim Domingo's free-kick was headed home by Karelse, who inadvertently gave City the lead. However, Golden Arrows finished the first half strongly and managed to restore parity in the 41st minute. Philani Kumalo played a delightful through ball for Sede Junior Dion, who fired past on-rushing goalkeeper Edward Maova to level the score. City were determined to restore their lead after the restart and were unlucky not to score 10 minutes into the second half. Reigning Botswana Premier League Player of the Season Jean Lwamba hit the woodwork with Maova well-beaten, and Arrows survived a scare. The two teams searched for a late winning goal in the latter stage of the KwaZulu-Natal Derby clash, but they couldn't find the back of the net due to their poor finishing. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with City remaining third in the league standings with seven points from three matches. Coach Manqoba Mngqithi's side, on the other hand, climbed up to the seventh spot, having collected four points from three games. City will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten start to the season when they take on Polokwane City away on 26 August. And Golden Arrows will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when they lock horns with Magesi FC at home on 27 August. The draw was a fair result, given the chances created by both teams. City's Keet was solid in goal, while Arrows' Maova made some crucial saves to deny City the win. The match was an intense and exciting affair, with both teams giving it their all. So, the focus now shifts to the next match for both teams, as they look to continue their good start to the season.
