As we bring the 2025/26 season to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on what has been a truly historic and memorable campaign for Durban City Football Club. At the beginning of the season, our objective was clear, to establish ourselves once again in the Premiership, compete with pride, and continue building a club that our supporters and the people of KwaZulu-Natal could be proud of. Together, we achieved far more than many expected. In our first season back in the topflight, we secured a Top 8 finish and, most remarkably, lifted the Nedbank Cup, bringing major silverware to Durban City Football Club. This achievement will forever remain a special chapter in the history of our club and is a testament to the commitment and hard work shown by our players, technical team, management and staff throughout the season. I would like to pay special tribute to our players and technical team for the dedication and professionalism they displayed from the first day of pre-season until the final whistle of the campaign. Their efforts on the field gave our supporters countless moments to celebrate and created memories that will last a lifetime. Our home ground, Chatsworth Stadium, once again established itself as a fortress throughout the season. The atmosphere created by our supporters week after week played an important role in the team’s success and demonstrated the special bond that exists between this club and its community. The passion and support shown by our fans turned every matchday into a memorable occasion and made Chatsworth one of the most vibrant football venues in the country. As we look ahead to the new season, we are excited to create even more unforgettable Friday Night Lights experiences and continue building a fortress that our supporters can proudly call home. To our supporters, thank you for believing in this team. Whether you travelled across the country, filled the stands at Chatsworth Stadium, followed us on television, listened on radio, or supported us through our digital platforms, your passion and loyalty inspired us every step of the way. The scenes following our Nedbank Cup triumph showed the strength of this football club and the pride it brings to the people of Durban and KwaZulu-Natal.
